The local Japanese newspaper, “Osaka Mainichi,” reports that the Chinese Foreign Minister, Dr. Wang, has accepted the proposal of the British Minister, Sir Miles Lampson. that the Consular Courts shall he abolished for five years. The agreement provides for speedy abolition in districts where Nanking’s influence is strongest, and extending to the interior proportionately as the Government proves its ability to maintain order and safety. The full text of the agreement is anticipated shortly.
