“WANTED ON VOYAGE”
MISS ANITA PAGNI IS GUEST OF HONOUR
The bright sun and the tang of salty breezes enhanced a “Wanted on the Voyage” afternoon, which was held last Saturday at the residence of Mrs. P. Browne, of Kohimarama, in honour of Miss Anita Pagni, who is leaving for a trip to Italy. The main entertainment was a putting competition, held on the green in the extensive grounds, and the winner, Mrs. Hutchinson* had Miss R. Wilson for runner-up. The competition was a keen one, and caused much interest on the part of the onlookers. Mrs. Browne, attractively gowned in beige crepe de chine and a leghorn hat to tone, awaited her guests in the lounge, which glowed with dahlias and zinias Miss Anita Pagni wore a pleated jumper-suit of white georgette. A guessing competition was won by Miss Gwen Dawling, and after an excellent afternoon tea was enjoyed. Miss Pagni was the recipient of many useful presents for use on her voyage. Among the guests present were: Mrs. Mathieson, Mrs. Rennie, Miss Meadows, Mrs. Markwick, Mrs. Hutchinson, Mrs. Henry, Miss JD. Scott, Miss Wells. Miss Maiden, Miss Rena Wilson and Mrs. George.
