FALLS FOUR FLOORS
MAN SUPS DOWN LIFT-WELL ACCIDENT IN WELLINGTON Press Association WELLINGTON. Today. Charles Williams, a young electrician, while working at Hamilton Chambers, Lambton Quay, slipped and fell four floors down a lift-well. Williams was assisting in the wiring of the liftwell in the building, and was standing at the entrance to the well on the fourth floor when, in some unaccountable manner, he slipped and fell to the bottom. It so happened that at the time the floor of the well was,being laid down over iron machinery, and Williams's fall was to some extent broken by landing on a board resting in a slanting position against one side. A carpenter engaged in the work was handy, and he lifted the injured man into the corridor. The city ambulance was called and Williams was taken to hospital suffering from Injuries to his back, abrasions to his left hand and shock.
