ROTORUA PREPARATIONS TRAINING AT ELLERSLIE TWO-YEAR-OLD PLEASES . Delightful weather ruled for Ellerslie training operations this morning, and practically all fast work was executed by horses with engagements at the Rotorua meeting over the week--end. The course proper, with the trestles about 40 feet out, and number three grass track were in use, the former track proving most popular. Course Proper Grand Spirit, Foot Rule and Neil were associated over half a mile in SI 1-5, the trio carving out the initial furlong in 12. Grand Spirit, who began a shade in front of her companions, had the best of the argument throughout ajid on the post there was daylight back to Foot Rule, with Neil several lengths away. Grand Spirit, who is attached to W. Gall’s stable, is doing nicely at the present, and she may be an early winner. Another trio in company over five furlongs was Lusome, Tambourine and Operatic, who finished in that order to record 1.7 3-5. Brampton pleased better than did Golden "Wedding in a gallop over seven furlongs in 1.34 1-5. They reeled off two furlongs in 26 1-5, three in 39 1-5 and the first, half-mile in 52. Brampton. who accompanies other members of J. Buchanan’s stable to Rotorua on Friday, was a winner at the last annual meeting there. After breakfast Measurer defeated Diamond Queen and Spring Abbey over six furlongs in 1.22 1-5. The firstnamed has plenty of speed, but has not met with luck in his racing this season. Spring Abbey is a lazy track worker, and little notice can be taken of his gallops. Number Three Grass Gold Money went comfortably over six furlongs in 1.25, and at a furlong less Currajong and Catalus registered 1.10. A few others worked on this track, but only at three-quatrer pace.
