MAN’S PETROL-SOAKED CLOTHES AFIRE TRAGEDY IN PERTH Reed. 11.30 a.m. PERTH, Today. William Arthur Gillard, a farm hand, employed near Wubin, was literally fried alive, when his benzinesoaked clothing became enveloped in flames.

His cries attracted aid from a nearby farm, but after gasping that he was carrying a tin of spirit to a cart when it caught fire, the man collapsed and died.
