Their strictures are overheard by the widower’s two children, who are much perturbed at the situation. They invent a pretext to lure the girl to their home, where they tell her to her face that she is ruining their family life. Realising that the children have a right to some say in a matter which so materially affects their future life the two lovers determine to separate. Eventually, however, the children repent of their intrusion and inform their father that they have altered their opinion. This brings about a reconciliation between the two and the shopgirl proves a successful wife and step*, mother. The cast has been selected with special care. Claudette Colbert, who is well known for her work on the New York stage, has the leading feminine role, and is supported by Walter Huston and Wesley Ruggles. The chief items on the big supporting programme are “The 1812 Overture,” by a symphony orchestra of 75 players, a sound cartoon, a sound gazette and views of the Mangere Airdrome.
