Gordon, of Launceston, Tasmania, are on a holiday tour of New Zealand, and are at present the guests of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Venables, of Otahuhu. Mr. and Mrs. A. Holmes, Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Forman and Miss Welch, of Christchurch, and Mr. and Mrs. W, F. Stiff, of England, are among the guests at the Grand Hotel. Mrs. and Miss Binny (Whangarei), Mrs. Taylor (To Kuiti), Mr. and Mrs. Kearney (Timaru), Misses Flnlayson (Paeroa), Mrs. Jardin (Wellington), and Miss Telford (Gisborne) are staying at Ftirnleigh, Symonds Street.

WAIKATO NOTES Mrs. E. P. Peacocke has returned to Hamilton from a visit to Hew Plymouth. Miss E. Barraclough. of Dunedin, has joined the staff of the Hamilton High School. Mrs. A. English is a visitor to Thornton’s Bay, on the Thames Coast. Mrs. W. McNicol, of Hamilton, and Mrs. B. Mandeno, of Te Awamutu, are spending a few days at New Plymouth. * * * The Rev. J. and Mrs. Hay have returned to Cambridge from a visit to Napier. Mrs. Bee Martin and her daughter are on holiday at Raglan. Mrs. Walter de Batour, of Wellington, is visiting her mother, Mrs. A. E. Manning, in Hamilton. Mrs. E. G. Johnson has returned to Hamilton from a visit to North Auckland. Mrs. F. G. Kibblewhite has returned to Ngaruawahia from a holiday in the South. FAREWEBB PARTY On Monday evening the women's committee of the St. Andrews Golf Club in Hamilton gave a very jolly party to bid farewell to Miss Ethel Hammond, who for several years has been their treasurer, and who is leaving next -week for England. The party was held at the Lyceum Club. Progressive bridge was played in the bridge room, and later, supper was enjoyed in the lounge, where the supper table was attractively decorated with a huge bowl of roses. Mrs. Hugh Douglas acted as hostess for the party, and during supper, in a bright little speech, asked Miss Hammond to accept a suitcase and handbag to remind her on her travels of her golfer friends in Hamilton. Bater Mrs. P. R. Stewart, who had been the prizewinner at bridge, asked Miss Hammond to accept; the prize as a memento of this party. Those present were: Miss Ethel Hammond, Mrs. J. Hammond, Mrs. H. Douglas, Mrs. E. R. Mears. Mrs. TV". H. Hume, Mrs. D. Hay, Mrs. H. T. Gillies, Mrs. G. Primrose, Mrs. A. J. Bond, Mrs. P. G. Russell, Mrs. P\ R. Stewart, Airs. R. Worley, Airs. W. Horton, Airs. H. C.
