Mr. W. G. Whitmore has tendered his resignation as president of the Dargaville Chamber of Commerce, having transferred to Whangarei. The vice-president, Mr. H. H. Tonkin, will succeed Mr. Whitmore as president. * * * The Dargaville Chamber of Commerce has decided to co-operate with the Northern Wairoa branch of the Farmers’ Union in entertaining the South African visitors who will visit this district during the present month. * >:* # The judges who officiated at the Arapohue Show on Saturday were the guests of the president of * the show, Mr. O. S. C. Pritchard, and his executive officers on Sunday, and were taken by bus to the Trounson Kauri Park. The visitors were greatly impressed with the forest, and were loud in their praise of the hospitality accorded them. They left by Sunday night’s steamer from Dargaville for their homes.
