NEW MILLIONAIRES IN UNITED STATES PROFITS FROM STOCKS WASHINGTON, Monday. The Internal Revenue Bureau has issued a preliminary report on the taxable incomes of 1928. This discloses an amazing story of stock profits with the creation of 206 new millionaires, bringing their total to. 496. A remarkable rise is shown in tile general level of net incomes of individuals throughout the country. In the year under review, when the great stock boom began, 24 persons had incomes of £1,000,000 or more, compared with 11 in the preceding period. Profits taken on the stock market and from the sale of other capital assets totalled £957,302,554, compared with about £579,000,000 in 1927. The average net income in 1928 was about £1,215.
