NEW CANON LAW FOR RELIGIOUS ORDER NEW PRAYER BOOK ALLOWED Reed. 9.5 a.m. DELHI, Sunday. The India Episcopal Synod, which is meeting at Calcutta, adopted a new constitution of canons and rules for the Church, and passed a resolution requesting the Government to appoint March 1 as the date of legal severance of the Church of India, Burma and Ceylon from the Church of England.

The Synod further decided to permit the churches to use the revised prayer book except in the controversial parts of the Communion service.
