GREAT ROAD CYCLE RACE
OAMARU TO CHRISTCHURCH Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. The Timaru to Christchurch road race, the biggest event in professional cycling in the Dominion, will be known this year as the Oapiaru to Christchurch race. The North Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union, which controls the race, decided this evening to extend the race to Oamaru, making the distance about 160 miles. The first Saturday in October was fixed as the date for the race.
