MAJESTIC
NEW PROGRAMME TOMORROW The gorgeous romantic drama “Street Girl” with, singers, dancers and a fine cast headed by Betty Compson, is now In its final day at the Majestic Theatre, as is also the excellently-varied accompanying programme. Bubbling, fun-loving youth has always been a feature of Fox Film productions, but seldom has so much emphasis been laid on the juvenile members of a cast as in “Why Leave Home?” the Fox Movietone all-talk-ing, singing, dancing feature coming to the Majestic tomorrow, which is an adaptation of that notable stage hit, “Cradle Snatchers.” Sue Carol and Nick Stuart, one of the most popular “teams” in screen circles, are featured with Walter Catlett. David Rollins', who appeared in the “Fox Movietone Follies of 1929,” “Prep and Pep” and the “Air Circus,” as well as in “The Black Watch”; Dixie Lee, who proved her ability and charm in the “Movietone Follies of 1929”: and Jean Bary, also have prominent parts. Richard Keene, although new to the screen, was a vaudeville headliner and a musical comedy lead on Broadway before coming to Hollywood, and bis dancing is one of the features of the picture. Besides these six young favourites, a large number of youngsters were used in the unique “roadhouse” sequence, and the spirit of youth is delightfully carried out through the entire production. The same song composing trio which wrote the memorable tunes for the recent "Fox Movietone Follies,” Con Conrad, Sidney D. Mitchell and Archie Gottler, attempt to outdo their previous records in this new production. Walter Catlett, besides playing a featured role, also wrote the dialogue for this all-talking, singing and dancing version of the great stage success, “Cradle Snatchers.” An excellent supporting programme of short talking and singing items will also be presented tomorrow.
