EARLY MORNING FIRE

AVONDALE HOUSE DAMAGED Extensive damage was done to a five-roomed house in Riverdale Road. Avondale, when a fire broke out at 1.38* this morning. Mr. A. Alloway, who was the owner and occupier, was awakened by the outbreak, and immediately gave the alarm. The Avondale and Point Chevalier Brigades responded, but could do iittle to stay the flames. The house, which was covered by an insurance policy for £350, and the contents for £loo, was badly gutted.
