MINE MANAGER HONOURED

PRESENTATIONS AT WAIKOKOWAI Mr. Charles Hunter, mine manager, of the Renown Collieries, who is leaving on Saturday next for Dobson to take over charge of the Grey Valley Colliery, was given a public farewell on Saturday evening at the Waikokowai Hall, the hall being crowded. Mr. S. Baird, on behalf of the residents, presented Mr. and Mrs. Hunter with a cabinet of cutlery, and Miss Joy Hunter with a handsome toilet set. The staff of the collieries gave Mr. Hunter a smoker’s companion, the presentation being made by Mr. W. Byers.
