WARSHIPS MOVEMENTS

The sloops Laburnum and Veronica returned to Auckland late yesterday afternoon and last evening, respectively, after a course of gunnery practice off Kawau Island. Good weather was experienced while the vessels were absent and satisfactory practice was carried out. Remaining in Auckland until February 4, the sloops will leave on a three months* cruise round the New Zealand coast, returning to Auckland on April 28 to dock and refit for the Islands cruise.
