KITCHEN EVENING AT MORRINSVILLE
SURPRISE VISIT TO TWO SISTERS COMING DOUBLE EVENT The Misses Gladys and Jessie Morrice, who are shortly to participate as principals in a double wedding in Morrinsville, were honoured on Wednesday evening when a number of friends paid a surprise visit to their home in Morrinsville. The evening was spent with dancing and games on the lawn. Each guest brought a “kitchen” gift. and after supper the parcels were opened, a very interesting and useful assortment being displayed. Mrs. W. Morrice, mother of the girls, was wearing .a beige crepe de chine frock.. Miss Gladys Morrice chose lame and georgette, and Miss Jessie Morrice had on a frock of scarlet crepe de chine. Others present included Mesdames D. C. McLeod. Arndt, Fulton, Finlayson, Ennis, and Misses A. Thomas, R. Johnstone, T. Skinner, D. Spinley, G. Eastwood, E. Morrice, J. Smith, M. Spinley, H. Arndt, C. Johnstone, M. Bremner, N. and D. Arndt, G. Lawrence, G. Meek, P. Short, B. Lawrence and D. Dike. * * • A PRESENTATION A happy function took place on Wednesday afternoon, when the staff of Messrs. W. Morrice assembled to bid farewell to the Misses Jessie and Morrice, who have been associated with the firm for several years. On behalf of the staff, Mr. F. Sims wished them both a bright and prosperous future, and made a presentation to each of a handsome oak bedroom clock. Miss Gladys Morrice - thanked the staff for their good wishes and handsome gifts.
