DEATH AN ACCIDENT?
PARENTS OF MURDERER CLAIM INSURANCE LEGAL FIGHT IN CHICAGO Reed. 9.5 a.m. CHICAGO, Friday. Harry Diamond was executed in 1926 for the murder of his wife. His parents, reading his insurance policy, came upon a provision pledging double indemnity for accidental death, and they are now seeking £5,000. They claim his death was accidental. He did everything possible to avoid it, they say. He employed lawyers to keep him alive, and did not until the last minute anticipate death. Therefore the execution, from the standpoint of the departed, was accident. Counsel for the insurance company insist that because Diamond confessed hew as thereby eliminated from any claim for accidental death.
