ACQUISITION OF NATIVE BUSH URGED PROPOSAL RECONSIDERED The purchase of native bush in tb« Mangumuka Gorge as a scenic reset* is being reconsidered by the Government Scenery Preservation Board a* result of representations by the A«c * land Chamber of Commerce Coun c *• according to a report yesterday. The council received a letter tom* the Minister in charge of preservation, the Hon. G. W. stating that the area had been to the Government by the owners ®, on account of the shortage of and because the Scenery preservauo® Board could not see its way to rep°, mend the acquisition of addr faVareas, the proposal could not be ourablv entertained. The Mmisv* added that the owners had been that if the proposal was brought * ward later he would refer it to board for reconsideration. As a result of the council s w this has now been done.
