FIRE DESTROYS KITCHEN

OUTBREAK AT PAPATOETOE The Papatoetoe Fire Brigade received a call to a fire which broke out in a four-roomed house in Rangitoto Road, Papatoetoe, at 1.40 a.m yesterday. The fire originated in the wall dividing the dining-room from the kitchen. The kitchen was completely destroyed, and the dining-room slightly damaged. The house, which is owned by Mrs. O. J. Mawkes, and occupied by Mr. Cyril Walker, is insured for £7OO with the Australian Provident Assurance Company, and the contents with the Atlas Insurance Company for £3OO.
