Mi G. P. Finlay appeared for accuse and entered pleas of guilty. “I thought it would be better t< have a dispassioned opinion on thi case so I have asked the probatioi officer, Major Gordon, to make inqui l ies,” remarked counsel. “Yes, I have seen her report/’ saai the magistrate. “Her health was no too good and women at these time will do strange things, even wbei there is no need for them.” Chief-Detective Hammond points out that a serious aspect of the cas was that the woman had opened at counts with two firms, in each instant- 1 giving another person's name.
