KILLED IN LANDSLIDE

MAN STRUCK BY STONE WARNING UNAVAILING Press Association GREYMOUTH, Tuesday. Au accident which proved fata! occurred at 4 p.m. today near Nelson Creek, seven miles from Blackball, the victim being Mr. John Wright, a county roadman. He was struck on the head by a stone that fell 150 ft from the top of a slip on the hillside. Deceased was with other workmen removing debris from the foot of a slip which the late earthquake had caused. His mate saw the stone coming and shouted for Wright to look out, but unfortunately he jumped right into its line of descent and was struck and rendered unconscious. The injured man was taken to the Grey Hospital, but died at 8 p.m. from the effects of a fractured skull. He was a single man, 52 years of age, and had no relatives in the Dominion.
