THE NAVY LEAGUE

Sir, — We have received from Mr. J. Waddell Smith, Dunedin, president of the Navy League for New Zealand, the following New Year message:—“Seeing that we are the only real sea Dominion of the great Sea Empire known as the British Commonwealth of Nations, it is imperative that we should possess a navy powerful enough and sufficiently efficient to defend our shores and protect our mercantile marine.” We shall be glad if you will promulgate this message per medium of your publication. B. W. BEAUMONT. Secretary.
