Matron Swayne, oi' the Whangarei Hospital, is on annual leave. Mrs. T. M. Alathieson spent an enjoyable fortnight at Kohimarama. Miss Mathieson spent the holidays ru Auckland and Matapouri Beach. Miss Joan Clarke is on holiday in the Waikato district, and is staying with Mrs. C. M. Brett. • * * Mrs. Eccles, Donald Street, and her two daughters, have returned after a three weeks’ motor tour. * * * The Rev. H. T. Steele and Mrs. Steele and family are occupying- a cottage at Urquhart’s Bay. * * * Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Collins are touring in their car. They have made stops at Rotorua and Waitomo. * * * Miss Taylor, physical instructress to the Southland Education Board, was in Whangarei for her sister’s wedding. Amcng those who attended the Missionary Centenary at Waimate were Mesdames Byrne, Foote and ‘Hutchings. • * * Mr. and Mrs. Frank Armstrong, Whatatiri, returned last week from a most enjoyable motor trip to Auckland and the Waikato. * * * Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Cole and their daughter, Frances, returned home this week after spending the holidays at Raglan and Auckland. An enjoyable party was held at Mrs. \V. Millington’s summer cottage at Onerahi last Saturday night, when about 25 young people spent the evening in dancing and playing games.
