RECORD REGATTA ENTRIES

Entries for the Auckland Anniversary Regatta this year constitute a record. This was mentioned by Mr. E. B. Webster, chairman of the regatta committee, at last evening’s meeting. He added that there was every prospect of a very successful programme. The treasurer, Mr. A. M. Gilmour, reported that £2lB had been received up to the present, which was £24 less than the amount collected over the same period last year. In response to a request from a number of launch owners, it was decided to start all launch and speed-boat events on the Mark Foy system. It was also resolved not to allow outboards to take part, in the races for speed-«boats. Mr. Webster is putting a great deal of time into prepaartions for the regatta. and is doing a volume of work, the variety and comprehensiveness of which by its unobtrusiveness passes practically unobserved by most of us.
