BOY SUFFERS INJURIES 1 As the result of tile explosion of some gunpowder he had placed in a bottle, A. Bain, aged 11, who was staying at Takanini on holiday, suffered injuries to his face. The lad had extracted the gunpowder from an unused cartridge and placed it in a bottle, in which he inserted a lighted match. He then withdrew and'awaited results. Growing impatient, he returned and leaned oyer the bottle. At that moment the explosion occurred. The injured boy was attended by Dr. Campbell Jenkins, of Manurewa, and is reported to have almost recovered.
