KAITAIA’S APPRECIATION

HONOUR FOR “WIZARD” SMITH Norman (“Wizard”) Smith and party arrived in Auckland from Kaitaia last evening. Before leaving the northern town a well-attended farewell function was held at which both Mr. Smith and Mr. Don Harkness were made life members of the Kaitaia Aero Club. Mr. Smith and Mr. Harkness were the guests of the Rotary Club at its luncheon today and this evening the two Australian motorists will appear at the Civic Theatre where a film of the record-breaking attempt is being shown. Tomorrow the party intends to leave for Rotorua.
