Hausman. a painter, aged 20, who a J s arre sted yesterday by Detective «e*ton following a smart piece of deceptive work, was charged with stealing tools valued at £2O from J. E. *anpage on Wednesday. He pleaded Suilty and the chief-detective asked , r a remand until Friday, remarking tuat there were two other charges to he made. Accused asked for bail, but his request was refused. He also made an application for suppression of his ttanie and this also was refused, the hiagistrate remarking that he might nave considered it had there been °uly one charge, but three were too many.
