GOOD FLYING OVER INDIA’S HARD COUNTRY FATIGUED AFTER LONG HOP United P. A.-—By Telegraph Copyright Reed. 11 a,m. DELHI, Thursday. Mr. F. C. Chichester, the New Zealander, who is flying to Australia, spent last night at Jhansi. He flew to Dumdum Airdrome at Calcutta today, covering a distance of 700 miles in six and three-quarter hours. This is almost a record achievement for a small plane over the most difficult part of India. Mr. Chichester was fatigued on his arrival at Karachi on Tuesday after his long flight from Chahbar. He set out on the next morning for Calcutta, but was only able to reach Jhansi. He hopes to leave Calcutta tomorrow for Akyab. Thence he will head for Rangoon.
