“THE GOLD DIGGERS OF BROADWAY” Remarkable success has greeted the presentation of “The Gold Diggers of Broadway,” a Warner Brothers and Vitaphone 100 per cent, teehnicolour production, which is now in the fourth week of its season at the St. James Theatre. “Gold Diggers of Broadway” is filled with songs out of the ordinary—“ Tip Toe Thru the Tulips” and “Painting the Clouds With Sunshine” are but two of the haunting melodies that will be sung and whistled by everyone. A cast of 100 stars includes such well-known favourites as Winnie Lightner, Ann Pennington and Conway Tearle, and dozens of other famous names. There is in addition a full chorus and ballet. “Gold Diggers of Broadway” ushers in a new era in entertainment. In addition to the super attraction the programme includes many Vitaphone varieties —Eddie Peabody, the wizard of the banjo; the Vitaphone Symphony Orchcsstra of 70, with Herman Heller conducting the “Orpheus Overture”; a comedy sketch and th® Vitaphone Girls in a spectacular number.
