SERIOUS CHARGES
MERCHANT REMANDED Described as a merchant, aged 43, John Stuart Robertson, was charged at tho Police Court this morning on two counts of indecent assault. The dates of the offences were given as January 16, and the offences were' alleged to have been committed against two girls, one aged 10 and the other aged 8. Senior-Sergeant O’Grady said that little was known of the man and asked for a remand until Thursday. Mr. Mackay, for accused, asked for bail, which was fixed in one surety of £ 200. “Robertson is well-known about the town,” said counsel.
