The recent wet weather has had thd effect of interfering with haymaking operations in and around Te Awarautu, Sunday and Monday proved fine and work was commenced. hut further showers compelled a cessation of work. * • + Building permits to the value of £ 23,250 were issued in Te Awamutu since April, 1929, according to a report presented to the borough council. Of the total £15,220 was for new dwellings. <•* * * * A total of 72 cars has been parked in Selwyn Park tourists’ camp during the holiday season. Fees totalled £9. The town clerk reported that a total of £5,572 12s 8d in rates was still outstanding.
