PAEROA NOTES

The monthly meeting of the Tirc.hiaRotokohu Drainage Board was held on Saturday night. Mr. W. F. Johnstone presided. It was decided to strike rates as follows;—Lands classed A, 1 5-Sd in the £; lands classed B, lid in the £; lands classed C, Id in the £. A deputation is to interview the Minister of Public Works on the question of an additional flood-gate on Mill Road, and the securing of a loan and subsidy to execute urgent works. Ensign Summerfield and Captain Elliot, of the Salvation Army, were fare welled by members of the local corps, mention being made of their valued services. They have been transferred to the Avondale Corps. Ensign and Mrs. Prowse, of Stratford, have taken charge of the Paeroa Corps.
