IGNORED COURT
MILITARY DEFAULTER FINED £5 MINOR CASES DEALT WITH “He has taken on notice o! court prosecutions and has laughed at the Defence Department,’* commented Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., fining Frank Peter Franicevfe £5 and costs for failing to attend drill. Franicevic, who did not appear, was also charged with failing to perform with due diligence and subordination training exercises and duties lawfully required of him. On that count he was convicted and discharged. The excuse that he had recently married 'and had been away on his honeymoon was given in a letter sent to the magistrate by Edward Brimble. He was convicted and discharged for failing to attend drill. It was stated that married men were relieved of their training responsibilities. Selwyn Casey was fined £5 and costs and William Frederick Prime. £1 and costs for failing to attend drill. Failing to notify his change of address and thus evading all his drills for a year George Marlow was fined £1 and costs. “You will have to make tip all those drills.” said the magistrate.
