YOUNG BOY’S DEATH Press Association NEW PLYMOUTH, Tuesday. A boy, Raymond Partridge, aged 10 years, a visitor from Patea, was drowned at Strandon beach this afternoon. He was swimming in heavy surf with a companion, aged seven years, who is unable to give a clear account of what happened. Apparently they were overwhelmed by large breakers. The younger hoy was washed up safely by a breaker, but Partridge failed to reach the shore. His body was recovered later. DIVER STRIKES ROCK DEATH IN HOSPITAL Press Association * INVERCARGILL, Tuesday. As a result of striking his head on a rock or some other hard substance while bathing at Riverton on Monday, a youth, Charles Alexander Gray, aged 18, received injuries which proved fatal. He dived into shallow water and did not rise for about two minutes. He was removed by companions to the hospital, where he died today.
