TRAINS BURIED IN SNOW

STORM UPSETS JAPANESE TRAFFIC DRIFTS TEN FEET DEEP TOKYO, Friday. A prolonged snowfall has paralysed communications and the railways in Northern Japan. Locomotives were derailed and trains snow-bound and buried in drifts which reached a depth of 10ft. The snow-ploughs were unsuccessful in clearing the lines.
