MOUNT EDEN WEDDING

; BRIDE MAKES CHARMING PICTURE IN LACE AND SOFT CHIFFON FROCK FATHERS—BARWELL A pretty wedding took place at St. Barnabas Church recently, when Miss Joyce Alice Barwell, eider daughter cf Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Barwell, cf Mount Eden, was married to Mr. Walter Armstrong Fathers, second son of Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Fathers, of Paeroa. THE Rev. W. G. H. Weadon. of Pae- -* roa. was the officiating minister. The bride made a charming picture in her frock of ivory chiffon inset with silk lace motifs. The full anklelength skirt was finished with a spray ol' large satin roses which hung from the waistline, and a small lace cape fell gracefully from the shoulders. Tier embroidered net veil was held in place with three strands of orange blossom buds, and she carried a shower bouquet of pink and white flowers. The matron of honour. Mrs. Cyril Parish, of Te Awamutu, was in a ninon frock of a pretty lettuce green shade, with a fitting bodice of gold and green lame. A hat in the same shade of green was inset with lace, having a trimming of pale mauve flowers. The two bridesmaids, Miss Jean Barwell (sister) and Miss Molly Phillips, of "Wellington, wore delightful frocks of frilled chiffon, in tones of palest primrose and briar rose, the latter having a fitting corsage of rose ring velvet. Picture hats of silk crinoline straw and shower bouquets to tone with their frocks were carried. Attending the bridegroom was Mr. Ben Keven as best man. Messrs. Cyril Parish and Tony Martin acting as groomsmen. A reception was held at the Domain Kiosk, Mrs. Barwell receiving the guests in a frock of navy blue and lime crepe fleuri, with a lime hat. The bridegroom's mother was in an ensemble of ciel blue and fawn, with a daffodil hat. Mrs. E. Tf. Joyce, the bride’s grandmother, wore black marocaine, with a black hat. A bouquet of crimson flowers was carried.
