GUNMEN CARRY OFF CHINESE OFFICIALS RAID ON DINNER PARTY United. P.A.—By Telegraph—Copyright Reed 10 a.m. SHANGHAI, Wed. A Foo Chow telegram states that a Communist gang invaded an official dinner party, and held up the guests at the revolver point. They seized six guests, bound them with ropes, and carried them off. The prisoners included Admiral Yang Shu Chang, Commander-In-Chief of the Chinese Navy, and concurrently Civil Governor of the Province of Fukien. Others were the principal members! of the Chief Executive of the Pro* vincial Government of Fukien.
Communist forces, styling themselves “The People's Army,” have long terrorised this district, but this is their most daring exploit.
