For the first sale of the year only a moderate yarding of all classes came forward, the following prices being realised: Sheep.—Fat wethers 26s 6d; twotootli wethers were passed in at 22s 4d and 275. Cattle. —Fat bullocks, £lO 7s 6d; fat steers, £10; fat cows, £5 17s to £6 2s 6d: fat heifers. £5 17s 6d; two-year-okl steers, £7 ss; run cows, £6 10s; yearling Polled Angus steers, passed in at £4 16s: 18-months steers, £5 14s: cows and calves, £6 10s to £7 11s: yearling heifers, £3 15s: empty cows, £6: 18-months heifers, up to £5-: Jersey bulls, £4 10s; Holstein bulls, £5 15s. Pigs.—Weaners. 12s 6d to 20s 6d; slips, 23s to 26s Cd: stores, 345. CALCUTTA LINSEED MARKET The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated January 6. from Landale and Clark. Limited, Calcutta, with reference to the linseed market: “We quote £2l os for linseed a ton net, c. and f. Sydney, for immediate shipment, and £l9 2s 6d for MarchApril shipment.
