ELDERLY MAN INJURED A fracture of his skull and injuries to his legs were suffered by Mr. George Mason, a married man," aged 55, of Harcourt Street, Grey Lynn, as the result of being knocked down by a motor-lorry while’ working on the tramway extension at Point Chevalier yesterday. The approach of the lorry, which was engaged on the work, was not noticed by Mr. Mason, who stepped in front of it from behind one of the compressor machines. The injured man, who is employed by the Auckland Transport Board, was removed to the Public Hospital by the St. John Ambulance. His condition this morning is regarded as satisfactory.
