While Mr. Alfred’ Dyer, a wealth3 r Canadian lumber-jack, was visiting Portsmouth, he ate pancakes in a restaurant there. He was so pleased with them that he repeated the meal ten days running. One day the cook happened to pass his table and he congratulated her on her skill. He told Miss Gladys Waller, for that was her name, that he had never found anyone else who could cook pancakes to his liking since his mother died. So Miss Waller is now going to Canada to be the wealthy lumber-jack’s bride.
