150 STOREY SKYSCRAPER Plans are being completed for ttai erection on Broadway, near Nef York’s financial district, of an oftU| building of 150 storeys, rising to 4 height of 1.600 ft. reports the New Yor| correspondent of the "Daily Chront icle.” London. This edifice will be 500 ft taller that the Eiffel Tower. It has to be built of steel, granite* brick and marble, with 25,000 window?, and will cost at least £15,000.000 if the hopes of the promoters are realised. Over the 100th floor will be a 50storey high tower, with an acresquare roof fitted to enable airplanes to land. The promoters plan to rent space on the basis of 10s a square foot, which is about one-half the price now charged in the district for up-to-date offices. The rental area will be about 5.000,000 square feet. It was announced recently that plans had been filed for a 925 ft 71 storey building for the National City Bank. Many other great "skyscrapers’’ are being planned for New York.
