NEW ZEALANDERS SAIL TO JOIN BYRD SUPPLY SHIP LEAVES Special to THE SEN DUNEDIN, Today. The City of New York, the Byrd Antarctic Expedition supply - ship, berthed at . Port Chalmers owing to unfavourable weather, but sailed yesterday for the Bay of Whales. Among the New Zealanders in the ship’s personnel on the present trip to southern latitudes are Mr. R. J. Orbell. wireless expert, of Auckland: Messrs. A. B. Robinson and J. Robinson, of Auckland; Mr. P. Wallace, Sawyer's Bay: Messrs. M. C. Woolhouse, H. L. Wilson, S. V. Armstrong, H. P. Young and T. Lockwood, all of are from different parts of the Dominion. Mr. A. Brustal, who comes from Norway and who, until recently, was chief guide at the Hermitage, Mount Cook, joined the ship as a seaman, and an Australian. Mr. W. Gribben, joined as cook. With the exception of Messrs. Orbell, Wallace and Lockwood, the other New Zealanders mentioned shipped as seamen.
