FATAL HOTEL BLAZE
TWO KILLED; OTHERS ESCAPE THINLY CLAD NEW YORK SENSATION NEW YORK, Saturday. An invalid woman and an engineer were killed yesterday in a fire at the Hotel Marguery, one of the most exclusive hotels in the city. Following upon an unexplained explosion in the basement, flames shot up through the entire structure by way of the elevator shafts. Hundreds of guests, many of whom are prominent citizens, were driven into the streets in their night attire. Six firemen were overcome while fighting the outbreak. Late tonight the police were searching in the deserted suites for other casualties.
