Unrivalled Splendour

ROYAL WEDDING PREPARATIONS Elaborate Safety Moves PRINCESS EN ROUTE TO ROME United P.A.—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, Saturday. A MESSAGE from Brussels says Princess Marie Jose has left by train for Rome. Crowds of Belgians cheered the Princess as she was driven through the streets of the capital to the railway station.

At the station she joined an Italian Royal train for Rome for her wedding to the Crown Prince Humbert, which is fixed for Wednesday. The train was unrivalled in splendour. Its magnificent dining-room had been decorated by the foremost artists of Italy. The Princess was accompanied by the King and Queen of Belgium and a large suite.

Elaborate precautions were taken by the police to ensure the safety of the

train, which was preceded by pilot engines.

The ex-Crown Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria, uncle of Princess Marie Jose, will attend the wedding. It will be the first meeting of Rupprecht and King Albert since their relations were broken off during the war. Dispatches from Rome state that the Eternal City will be en fete for a week.

The Duke of York has gone to Rome to attend the wedding. He will be absent from England for a week.
