Who’s Who on The Narbada
The majority of the passengers on the Narbada, which arrived from Calcutta this morning, are women who have left India during the hot season, and who are to spend the time in New Zealand. Mrs. B. M. Johns, wife of Dr. Johns, of Singapore, is an Aucklander, who has returned on a holiday trip after an absence of three years. Mrs. Grenier, whose husband is in the Government service in Kuala Lumpur, and Miss Grenier; Airs. Lilly, v>hose husband is in the Government Survey Service in Malaya; Mr. and Mrs. E. Knewstubb and Mrs. R. Knewstubb, of Malaya, are other passengers. To try my luck in New Zealand,” is how Mr. B. Hocking describes his visit to the Dominion. He has spent JO years in India and he desires to take up farming in New Zealand. Mr. S. G. Davis, who has been in India for 10 years, has come to New Zealand to join his uncle, a. prominent New Zealand sheep-farmer.
