RADIO ON ZEPPELIN Radio played an important part in j (lie elaborate preparations that were ' made by the Los Angeles “Examiner” to secure a “scoop” on the arrival cf i the Graf Zeppelin on the Pacific Coast, on its recent round-the-world j voyage. Eight land and sea ’planes I and an airship, all fully equipped j with radio, composed the aerial fleet hat was chartered by the “Examiner” for this purpose. One seaplane went i out to sea to meet the dirigible, and was able to broadcast, through the ' station owned by the “Examiner,” graphic descriptions of the huge airship as she glided toward Los Angeles. Another ’plane broadcast further descriptions, which were picked up by lhe “Examiner’s” short-wave station, j and then rushed to the editors at j their desks for preparation of special I editions.
