CIVIC
FINE PROGRAMMES A triumph in the art of talking and sound motion pictures has been achieved in “Three Live Ghosts," featuring an all-star cast which continues to delight audiences at the Civic Theatre. “Three Live Ghosts" marks a new milestone in the art of motion picture making and no talking picture yet produced* has aroused the enthusiasm and acclaim accorded this famous all-talk-ing comedy-drama, which is based on the play that made stage history both in America and in England. Ted Henkel’s orchestra of 30 picked musicians and his stage band of 20, and Fred Scholl at the Civic grand organ, have been much appreciated by audiences, and the dancing of Ramon. Madeline and Pedro with the Civic Ballet has also come in for a lot of praise. Special announcements regarding the cabaret and winter garden are advertised. A road show attraction that will establish new records is “Flight," the Columbia all-talking aviation film, which will be the Civic’s next big feature, with Jack Holt, Lila Lee and Ralph Graves in the leading roles. Frank R. Capra directed. It is the classic of the screen’s air dramas. A powerful story of love and honour in the lives of two buddies in the flying division of the United States Marine Corps, it is replete with daring action 'and thrilling moments. The love interest running through the breath-taking situations is vivid and realistic. The close-ups taken above the clouds are awe-inspiring. This alltalking sensation is by far the best aviation picture yet produced.
