GOVERNOR-GENERAL’S VISIT WEEK IN AUCKLAND Auckland will excel itself in demon, strating its affection and goodwill toward the Governor-General, sir Charles Fergusson and Lady Alice Fergusson, during their Excellencies’ final visit to the City next week. Arriving on Monday, the Vice-Regal party will be treated to a round of farewell functions during their week’s stay, before leaving for Wellington on Sunday evening, January 5. Their Excellencies leave New Zealand on February I. The City’s public farewell in the Town Hall on Saturday evening, January 4, is expected to be a memorable ceremony. The function will he open to all who desire the opportunity of expressing their indebtedness to their Excellencies. Musical ttems will occupy a prominent place tn the function. The City Organist, Mr. Maughan Barnett, will play several numbers and the Municipal Choir will give several items. Maori songs will also be sung by Mr. Barry Coney. The Mayor, Mr. Geo. Baildon, will present an address to Sir Charles Fergusson during the evening.

On the afternoon of January 3 the women’s organisations of Auckland will combine in an official farewell to Lady Alice Fergnsson, who will be presented with a gift to commemorate her stay in New Zealand.
