AT BLANDFORD PARK

TONIGHT’S PROGRAMME

CONTEST FOR COLD HELMET A splendid programme of events has been aranged for the cinder-track racing at Blandford Park this evening and the class of riders engaged promises thrilling contests. In addition to the excellent track, the public will benefit by extra lighting which has been installed during the past week. The principal event is the Big Nine Championship for the Gold Helmet, which will be run in three heats, a semi-final and final, over four laps, from a rolling start. The local champions are keen to relieve the holder of the helmet, C. Goldberg, of his trophy. Another big race is the New Year Handicap, which will be in four heats, two semi-finals and final. Special interest will attach to the challenge race between Len Sowerby and Alby Lemon, who have proved themselves to be in the forefront of Auckland broadsiders.
