At The Trots
Weather Controls Fashion’s Decrees
Unsettled-looking skies, and intermittent showers, made light summer tracking un impossibility today at the Auckland Trotting Club’s second day of its summer meeting at Alexandra Park. Epsom. The weather Ims boon so unfavourable for weeks past that a return has been made to spring suits and ensembles, with even a fur coat here a nil there to testify to the erratic behaviour of our once-lauded climate. However, many of the more neutral suitings were worn with hats and accessories in the new and pretty lime and lernon shades, supplying a litttlo of the brightness which wo expect from King Sol at this time of the year. The gaily-coloured silken umbrellas are also a great improvement on the old way, when wo made a dull or wet day worse by wearing one’s most uninteresting clothes. AMONG THOSE PRESENT Mrs. G.
